{"id":1142,"date":"2025-06-01T22:30:23","date_gmt":"2025-06-02T02:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hawan.net\/?p=1142"},"modified":"2025-06-27T22:31:46","modified_gmt":"2025-06-28T02:31:46","slug":"a-live-discussion-on-atma-and-prak%e1%b9%9bti-june-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hawan.net\/?p=1142","title":{"rendered":"A Live Discussion on \u0100tm\u0101 and Prak\u1e5bti (June 2025)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>This Month\u2019s Assignment: Let\u2019s Talk\u2014A Live Discussion on \u0100tm\u0101 and Prak\u1e5bti<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear Kids,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This month\u2019s assignment is a little different\u2014and exciting!<br>Instead of writing and presenting, we will be <strong>coming together for a live group discussion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What\u2019s Different This Time?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, we explored the three eternal realities described in the Rigveda:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Param\u0101tm\u0101<\/strong> \u2013 the Supreme Soul (God),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u0100tm\u0101<\/strong> \u2013 the individual soul (you), and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prak\u1e5bti<\/strong> \u2013 the material world (Nature).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We did this through stories like Nachiketa\u2019s search for truth, and through reflections inspired by Swami Dayanand Saraswati\u2019s <em>Rigved\u0101di Bh\u0101\u1e63ya Bh\u016bmik\u0101<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This month, we will zoom<strong> in<\/strong> on just two of these:<br>&nbsp;<strong>\u0100tm\u0101<\/strong> and <strong>Prak\u1e5bti<\/strong>\u2014the soul and nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And instead of preparing a speech or article, your task is to <strong>come prepared to reflect and speak freely<\/strong> during a live conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What Should I Do to Prepare?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simple! Just review what we\u2019ve learned so far. Then reflect on these <strong>questions<\/strong>, which we will use as conversation starters in our session:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Discussion Prompts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What is the difference between the soul (\u0100tm\u0101) and the body (made of Prak\u1e5bti)?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can you recall a time when you acted from your soul\u2014calmly, wisely, kindly?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Why do you think it\u2019s important to know that you are a soul and not just a body?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How does knowing Prak\u1e5bti is not alive help us understand how nature really works?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you see examples where people treat their body or appearance as the most important thing? What happens because of that?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Imagine your soul as the rider and the body as the bicycle. What makes a good ride?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If both \u0100tm\u0101 and Prak\u1e5bti are eternal, how are they different?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What do you think Swami Dayanand meant when he said knowledge leads to freedom?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Note on Speaking in the Discussion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t need to memorize anything.
